Goals
This strategy recognises emphatically the admirable work, huge success and years of investment of time and funding that have been expanded in bringing significant value to the club and therefore the communities of Rhondda Cynon Taf.
1
Community Impact
We want the club to be a powerhouse for community development across Rhondda Cynon Taf.
The football club and the Cambrian Village Trust will work in close alignment to ensure that our complimentary activities will be delivered to support the economic, social and health prosperity of our communities. The whole organisation will work seamlessly to connect its outreach and community interventions.
2
Fan Engagement
The club will seek to develop creative solutions to engage with our supporters and to implement interventions to attract new fans from all sectors of our community.
Through an innovative approach to marketing and communications, we will aim to drive up attendances at our senior men’s and women’s first team fixtures. We will aim to utilise our current community outreach activities to incentivise engagement with our football provision, but in addition we will seek to develop new links with grassroots clubs through community events and open days.
3
Best in Class Sports Facilities
The club is already on course to develop its footballing facilities to a level which will exceed tier 1 criteria.
With the addition of extra changing room capacity, female only spaces, a new state of the art 3G playing surface and the introduction of a purpose-built gymnasium, the club is at the vanguard of a new chapter in its provision of an enabling environment for our players and participants. We will unleash the potential of our facilities to underpin our outreach activities with our communities and partners to open the doors of Cambrian for the benefit of our region.
4
Our Football Ambition
Our aim is to reach the summit of the Men’s and Women’s domestic pyramid by the 2027/28 season.
The club will maximise its efforts and resources to provide our football leadership teams with the prerequisite resources within a positive and enabling environment to support this ambition. To underpin our ambitions at senior level, our aim is to secure category A academy status by 2026/27. In tandem with our elite level aspirations, we will seek to vigorously grow our provision for women and girls’ football to become a leader in the female game within our region. We will ensure that our facilities and environment is one that will embrace the recruitment and retention of female footballers at our club.
5
Enabling Governance to Support Growth
Through the formation of a new company, Cambrian United Ltd, we will harness the growth ambitions of the whole club through developing enabling, lean and agile governance processes which focus on delivery and accountability.
We will seek to recruit exceptional leaders to lead at our board level, with a portfolio approach to leadership and club development very much at the heart of our philosophy. The governance structures and strategic direction of the football club and the Cambrian Village Trust will align and be steered at the non-executive level through the formation of the Cambrian Strategic Advisory Board. Resources will be coalesced in a systematic way to help the club achieve its wide-ranging vision.
6
Grow External Investment
The club has lofty ambitions and to fulfil these aspirations, the club must meet its intent with a significant upscaling of external investment and revenues.
Through enhanced marketing, communications and outreach activities, the club is aiming to increase turnover by 300% by 2029/2030. In addition to the capture of new commercial and grant income, the aim is to increase revenues from merchandising, hospitality, fundraising and match day experiences.
